Booking PTE in Nepal takes about 15 minutes online: create a Pearson account with your passport details, choose PTE Academic, pick a test centre and date, pay the fee of USD 248.60 (about NPR 38,000), and check your confirmation email. The two mistakes that cause the most trouble are a name that does not match your passport, and booking too close to the test date to reschedule for free.

Before you start

  • Passport: valid, with your name exactly as it will appear on your booking.
  • Email address: one you check daily. Your confirmation and results come here.
  • Payment method: a card that allows international USD payments, or a Pearson-authorised voucher.
  • The right test: PTE Academic for Australia, New Zealand and most universities. PTE Academic UKVI only if a UK visa asks for it. PTE Core is for Canada. See PTE Core vs PTE Academic.
  • Age: test takers must be 16 or older. Under 18s need parental consent.

How to book PTE in Nepal: 7 steps

  1. Go to Pearson's official PTE website and choose "Book now". Use the official site only.
  2. Create your myPTE account. Enter your name exactly as it appears in your passport, including middle names.
  3. Choose your test: PTE Academic (or UKVI if required).
  4. Choose your country and city: Nepal, then Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Pokhara, Chitwan, Butwal or the east. See PTE exam centres in Nepal.
  5. Pick a date and time. Compare nearby centres if your first choice is full.
  6. Enter your passport details and pay. Pay by card in USD, or enter a voucher code.
  7. Check your confirmation email. It has your centre address, arrival time and ID rules. Save it.

The name on your booking must match your passport exactly. A mismatch can mean you are turned away on test day without a refund.

How much it costs

Pearson's price for Nepal is USD 248.60, about NPR 38,000 depending on the exchange rate and your card charges. Some agents quote more once service charges are added. Full breakdown in our PTE exam fee in Nepal guide.

Choosing your test date

  • Book at least 2 to 3 weeks ahead, especially before the February and July intakes.
  • Book more than 14 days ahead so free rescheduling stays open. Inside 14 days you cannot reschedule. See reschedule and refund rules.
  • Pick a time when you speak best. Many students are sharper in the morning.
  • Leave time for a retake before your visa or university deadline, just in case.

Paying with a voucher

Pearson-authorised partners sometimes sell vouchers. Only buy from sellers listed or authorised by Pearson. Once you use a voucher, Pearson's normal reschedule and cancellation rules apply.
